Meet Allatoona High School Choral Program
Allatoona Chorus
ALLATOONA HIGH SCHOOL
The Allatoona Choral Program has been under the direction of Mr. Thomas Chafin since 2011. Students experience performance opportunities of the highest level ranging from public concerts given throughout the year at Allatoona High School and in the surrounding community. Students are also challenged daily to become the best choral musician possible. Choirs from Allatoona have received consistent superior ratings at Large Group Performance Evaluations, have sung in such places as Salzburg Cathedral, Salzburg Austria, Haydnkirche, Eisenstadt, Austria, and BasÃlica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar, Zaragoza, Spain.

While at Allatoona High School students can experience various levels of choral music throughout our three main ensembles as well as other ensembles that are varied throughout the year.

Cantare
Beginnig/Intermediate Treble Choir
(Italian)- to sing.
Our beginning/intermediate choir is open to all freshman, new to AHS, or first time treble singers. This class focuses on basic singing techniques and sight reading. Repertoire is varied to aid in teaching proper choral tone that expresses a wide variety of tonal color, and to give students cultural perspectives that are not normally their own.
Allatoona Women's Choir
Fire Choir
Allatoona's most advanced chorus. Treble singers are auditioned after a successful year in Cantare. This ensemble focuses on advanced high school choral repertoire and each student is  challenged to be a self sufficient musician. This group has been invited to be the featured choir at several state honor choruses, most recently, they were the featured choral ensemble at Berry Choral Day, Berry College, Rome, GA.
Camerata
Mixed Chorus
This ensemble is comprised of all tenor/bass choral singers and auditioned treble singers from Cantare. As with our other choirs, students in Camerata are challenged to sing with the highest level of choral tone quality and to become self sufficient musicians. Repertoire is varied and ranges from Renaissance to Current/Modern music.
